Saturday Guided Tours

Saturday, October 11, 2025

Join us for a free Guided Tour of the Australian Tapestry Workshop.

Join us for a free guided Saturday tour of the Australian Tapestry Workshop, the only workshop of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and one of just a few in the world. Experience the creative energy of our world-renowned studio, where contemporary tapestries are crafted in close collaboration with leading artists, designers, and architects.

From the workshop floor, you’ll see tapestries in progress on the loom, explore the Artists in Residence spaces, and get a behind-the-scenes look at our on-site Colour Laboratory, where specialised chemists create custom-dyed yarns for our master weavers. Our knowledgeable guides will share insights into the weaving process, artist collaborations, and what makes the ATW truly unique. You’ll also visit our two galleries showcasing rotating exhibitions of contemporary art.
