'What the Flowers Knew' is a new body of work by Sophie Honess, created during a personal season of stillness. Drawing on the quiet beauty of folk art, these tufted wool works honour a way of making that holds knowledge gently—without the need for explanation.
Sophie Honess is a Gomeroi Yinarr artist based in Tamworth, New South Wales. For the past five years, she has been creating textile art professionally, drawing inspiration from the landscapes of Gomeroi country.
Sophie Honess is the First Peoples Artist in Residence, generously supported by Alayne Davies through the Irene Davies Residency Scholarships.
