13 July, 2025

We’re pleased to share that two short videos from the Australian Tapestry Workshop are currently screening as part of World Expo 2025 Osaka, at the Australia Pavilion — and are now also available to watch here.

Running from 13 April to 13 October 2025, the Expo brings together over 150 countries and regions under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” — a global platform for ideas, innovation, and collaboration.

Australia’s involvement in the Expo centres on cross-cultural exchange, and ATW’s contribution reflects the richness of artistic dialogue between Australia and Japan.

The videos are narrated by ATW Project Artist Ema Shin, filmed by Takeshi Kondo, and feature Former ATW Artist in Residence Misako Nakahira. Their production was supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

For those visiting the Expo in Osaka, the videos are screened at intervals throughout the day at the Australia Pavilion — we encourage you to keep an eye out during your visit.
